The company employs more than 5000 people, and is a fully integrated energy company with activities in oil and gas exploration and production, electricity production, energy distribution and research and development activities.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the wind power industry, DONG Energy is one of the leading offshore wind developers in the UK. The company are currently generating 540MW from offshore wind in the UK with a further 414MW offshore wind farms under construction.
Sillson Communications have been working with Dong Energy since 2003, providing a full on demand community consultation and communication service giving advice and support to the offshore wind farm infrastructure projects. This has culminated in being involved with 5 successfully consented projects totalling 954MW of offshore wind power, these include:

Client Objectives
To prepare and implement a proactive community consultation and communications strategy to ensure effective communication between DONG Energy and all relevant stakeholders, including local communities and authorities, in order to identify any potential issues and deal with them as swiftly and effectively as possible.
Client Brief
Produce, maintain and implement a detailed strategic consultation and communications plan during the construction and commissioning phase, including liaison with both local project teams and corporate HQ in Denmark.
