TESCO CASE STUDY
![]()
Tesco is one of the world's largest retailers with operations in 14 countries, employing over 500,000 people and serving millions of customers every week.
In 1997, Tesco set out a strategy to grow the core business and diversify with new products and services in existing and new markets. This strategy has enabled them to deliver strong, sustained growth over the past 14 years.
In order to reflect changing consumer needs and the increasingly global nature of their business Tesco developed an evolving strategy. The strategy now has seven parts and applies to their five business segments – the UK, Asia, Europe, the United States and Tesco Bank.
